Chapter 3 ~ Pasts Unfold:

"Sanibel, what is it?" Avalon asked.

"First I need you all to sit down. This is going to be a long story, and I have a feeling that you guys are going to find it hard to believe," Sanibel explained. She led the girls to a group of benches and they all sat down to hear what Sanibel had to say. Serena and the others had a feeling that it was something to do about their senshi powers. Avalon, Lina, and Stella on the other hand had no idea what was going on. "Girls this is about your past…" Sanibel's crescent moon on her forehead started to glow and the girls were drawing into a trance like state. What they saw was a movie like projection, and then they recognized they were seeing the Moon Kingdom during the Silver Millennium.

Flashback:

"Momma!" Selena laughed as she ran into her mother's arms, who was Queen Serenity. "Momma, you have a big tummy."

"Yes dear, there is something I need to tell you. Mommy's going to have another little girl," Said the Queen, but before she could say anymore Selena interrupted her.

"Oh wow! I get a sister! Yeah!" Selena laughed as she ran around the garden chasing butterflies.

"That would be wonderful my little Selena…but there is a darker side to this," the Queen said to herself as tears filled her eyes. She walked back into the castle leaving Selena to herself.

"Momma, I don't understand, you don't want me anymore?" Selena said as she cried.

"No, that's not it at all. There can only be one princess and sailor scout per planet, and it would just be too hard if both of you stayed her. When Serena is born it is just going to be too hard to choose who that princess is going to be," Serenity tried to explain.

"But mommy! I was here first! Why can't you send her away? I wanna stay here with you mommy!" Selena cried even harder.

"And that is why you should go, you are older and I believe you can be strong enough to protect the Universe. Selena, my baby, I love you so much, please understand that. This is very hard for me," Serenity said as she started to cry. Selena crawled up into her mom's lap and gave her a big hug.

"Momma, can I stay with you for just tonight then?" Selena asked.

"Yes…of course," Serenity picked her up and carried her into her room and set her in the bed. "Tomorrow morning we'll say our goodbye's."

"Selena, you will be going to stay with a wonderful lady named Emmi. She will protect and take care of you. She is also going to teach you how to become a sailor scout. Make me proud, I'll always be with you," Serenity told Selena.

"But momma, will I ever see you again?" Selena asked.

"No, I don't think so," Serenity answered.

"But momma!" Selena shouted with tears.

"Shhh," Serenity gave Selena a kiss on her head. "My dear, be good. Live a happy life. I love you and will always be with you. Be strong and help protect this Universe…" Serenity started to cry. "…I love you, my dear Selena."

"Momma, I love you…" Selena disappeared in a shower of stars.

"You three are proud Sailors of the Universe!" Emmi stood back and admired the girls.

"I'm so happy, look at us you guys! We're the scouts who are gonna protect the Universe!" Avalon said with a big grin on her face.

"I know, let's do the best job we can," Stella said.

"Hey, don't forget about me!" Sanibel cried.

"Of course not!" Avalon scooped up Sanibel in her arms.

"Your first mission is to go to earth and help protect that planet…there you'll meet sailors of that planet and help them in a great fight," Emmi explained.

"ALL RIGHT!" The girls shouted while throwing their arms up.

End of Flashback:

The girls all fell out of the trance like state and were now well aware of the past.

"Oh my God," Avalon said as tears started to stream down her face.

"Ah…Avalon, I don't know what to say. We're sisters," Serena said with a quiet voice.

"I'm sorry, but I need some time to myself," Avalon turned and ran towards home.

"Avalon, wait!" Stella cried.

"I'm sorry to give this news to you guys right now, I know it's tough," Sanibel said.

"Sanibel, we understand, it's best to know earlier than later," Lita said.

"I'm going to go talk to Avalon," Sanibel said as she turned and left the girls by themselves.

"Serena, what do you think of all this?" Lina asked.

"Well, I'm not quite sure. I feel a little guilty. I feel it's my fault Avalon was sent away. Why did I have to become Sailor Moon, like she said she was born first…" Serena started.

"Serena! You are a great Sailor Moon, don't say that," Mina shouted.

"I know, I just…It's very confusing right now. To learn you guys are sailor scouts as well, I just don't know what to think. And, and, I have a sister. Why didn't Luna tell me about this?" Serena went on.

"Maybe she didn't know," Amy suggested.

"Maybe," Raye said.

"I think we should all go and talk about this, I know Avalon's gonna have a hard time with this, she's very sensitive. I think we need to talk about our future," Stella said.

"Yah, that might be good," Amy said.

The girls went to a café and talked about all the events that had happened and what was going to happen in the future.

At home:

"Avalon?" Sanibel asked as she peeked her head into Avalon's room. She saw Avalon curled up on her bed crying. "Avalon, come on now,"

"Sanibel, why didn't you tell me earlier? You knew I've always wanted to belong to a family. Why Sanibel? And why was I the one to be given up? I just don't understand," Avalon cried.

Sanibel jumped up on the bed and curled up next to Avalon. "I know this is very hard. I understand, I was sent off too. But that's not the point…it was so hard for me to hold inside all of this time. I wanted to tell you so bad, but I had to wait for the right time. And when I saw your sister I thought it was best. Please understand, your mother loved you very much. She had a very hard decision to make," Sanibel tried to explain.

"But why me?" Avalon asked.

"I think because your mother saw something in you, and bright light that made you very strong. I also think she knew you could take care of yourself. You're a strong person Avalon, you and I both know that. I'm always here for you too. You need to focus right now on your mission," Sanibel said.

"I know, Sani, thanks," Avalon said. "But what is our mission? I haven't seen any monsters or evil in this world."

"To tell you the truth, I'm not sure. Emmi just had this feeling that something bad was gonna happen. Hey, you succeed in your first mission, you found the other scouts. And you even got a bonus, a sister!" Sanibel laughed.

"Sani, you're so insensitive!" Avalon said as she laughed and hugged Sani. "Thanks for being here with me."

Somewhere in the Galaxy:

"Hmmm, I think it's about time to teach those sailor scouts a lesson," a lady said.

"He he he! Mother, is it time for me to play yet?!" a girl asked.

"Yes, I think it is. Teach them what evil and hate really is," the shadowed lady said.

"Yes mother, I'll have so much fun, he he he!" And with that she disappeared.
